Dentistry used to be about a few antique solutions and concepts such as fixing, covering, filling or removing teeth. Now, dentists like Dr. Hwang are bringing a renaissance of art and science to dentistry. Transforming, saving and conserving are the solutions we focus on now.

Plus, you have many personalized options. Smile straightening without braces; a brighter, whiter smile; healthier, longer-lasting, stable solutions for missing teeth; and a smile without excess gum tissue are all included in these options. Many patients also have benefited from therapy that can change a smile in one visit. Of course, we need to sit down and discuss your specific needs before we recommend the therapy that is right for you. But, you might want to review the options that are now available. Gum Line Reshaping - Show more of your smile

Reshaping your gum line can change your smile dramatically. Excessive gum tissue can make your teeth look short. You many have more gum line than is necessary for protection. Gum tissue reshaping can make you feel like smiling wider and longer.

The no-scalpel method we use is more comfortable and encourages more patients take advantage of this exciting smile changing therapy. You heal faster without the tissue stress caused by older methods. We can also fill gaps in your gum line by using gum design therapies. Receding gum tissue can cause your teeth to look too long or oversized.

Porcelain Veneers - Tooth straightening

Many of our patients prefer porcelain veneers because they can close spaces, increase length, create maximum whiteness and straighten teeth. After your teeth are prepared, these handcrafted restorations are strongly bonded to them with a state-of-the-art dental bonding material. Veneers help us achieve a straighter smile without standard orthodontics. In as little as two visits you can have a confident, straight and attractive smile.

Veneers are very durable and can cover the deepest stains or discoloration, including tetracycline stains (a medicine given to children in the 1960s). Many of our patients have received the smile they always wanted with porcelain veneers. Schedule a smile consultation to see if you can benefit from this or other procedures. Not everyone can bypass orthodontic therapy, but veneers give many people another exciting option.

Contouring/Bonding - Artistically close gaps, lengthen teeth

Dr. Hawng artistically applies this tooth-colored, enamel-like material to your teeth layer by layer. This material creates a strong, durable bond with a natural look. Spaces in your smile can be eliminated and your teeth lengthened with this contouring material. It comes in many white tones including one for those who want a bright, white smile. Usually minimal removal of tooth structure is required. In one visit you can have a wonderful new smile.

Porcelain veneers are also used to change the size, shape and color of your teeth. We’ll help you decide which treatment is best for you.

Beautiful Crowns - Natural looking

Worn or broken teeth can create problems with your bite (causing headaches and other pain), cause damage to surrounding teeth and make teeth more susceptible to decay. Porcelain crowns offer a natural look with the strength needed to absorb the shock a typical person’s bite (especially in the back teeth) and prevent breakage.

Dental Implants - Instead of dentures

Dental implants keep your jaw strong and youthful looking. It’s like getting your natural smile back. They remove the need for diet restrictions that can be created by dentures. Complete functionality can be restored.

Many times dentures weaken your jaw and cause the bone to recede. Implants replace the tooth root, which strengthen the jaw, and give many patients a lifetime of security and dental health. Dental implants can dramatically change how you feel about your smile. Let us change your perception of what dentistry can do for you.

Here are other benefits of implants.

• Enhanced Function: Eat the foods you love again
• Biologically Safe: Made from a material that bonds with the bone in your jaw.
• Stability: Enjoy laughing and talking in social and business settings
• Confidence: Your self-esteem will increase without fear of embarrassment
• Convenience: No more unpleasant-tasting adhesives
• Happiness: Feel and look younger and more attractive

Smile Whitening - Professional, complete

Dentist supervised smile whitening can enhance your smile very beautifully with safe, fully approved and effective methods. We can brighten your teeth considerably in as little as two weeks. We create whitening trays from models of your teeth, which fit more comfortably and securely than off-the-shelf products. You can wear the trays at night or during the day and barely know you have them on.

Off-the-shelf home bleaching can damage your gums and whiten unevenly. We offer whitening methods that are closely monitored by our professional staff for superior results in the least amount of time. You no longer need to rely solely on a label to give you the information you require. We guide you through the process so you get the whitening you want.

Esthetic Bridges - Strong, artistic

Crown and bridge dentistry using a porcelain-fused-to-metal bridge is very appealing to those with worn and missing teeth. The bridgework and crown combinations we use provide a natural look with superior strength.

Porcelain-fused-to-metal bridges are used to permanently replace missing teeth. There is no shifting or movement as is common with partial dentures. By bonding a natural-looking bridge securely to adjacent teeth using porcelain crowns, we can give you a confident and healthy smile.

White ‘Fillings’ - No metal, more beauty

Natural-looking composite ‘fillings’ are a beautiful alternative to metal fillings, which can fill an otherwise bright smile with dark spots. Conventional metal amalgam material can hide decay and weaken the natural tooth. Metal fillings are inserted usually after removing large areas of the healthy tooth. Over time, a crown may be needed because the tooth is weakened, causing it to crack.

New tooth-colored composite restorations are ‘flowed’ into the areas where decay has been removed and become ‘part’ of the tooth, avoiding the need to remove large portions of healthy tooth. This can save more of your natural tooth for many years to come.

Inlays/Onlays - Before a crown is needed

Before, when teeth were cracked or eroded to the extent where composite fillings would not work successfully, we would place a crown. Worn out back teeth, where bite pressure is the greatest, need to be built up with a strong material. White ‘fillings’ (called composite resins) don't provide enough durability for most back teeth restorations. Now, with inlays and onlays, we can avoid placing a crown restoration as often. We can save more of the natural tooth, which means more natural strength.

A crown covers the top of the natural tooth so preparing a tooth for a crown requires creating a uniform surface and more natural tooth removal. While this removal is relatively conservative, it is more than what is needed for an inlay or onlay. They are custom formed around the worn and broken areas of the tooth, strongly and seamlessly. Inlays and onlays can be made into more unique formations. Depending on your specific needs and wishes, we recommend either high-grade gold or porcelain materials.
